I'm Jemima, the maker behind Moss & Stone Jewellery. I live in the Blue Mountains, NSW, and draw much of the inspiration for my work from the beauty around me.

I've always been creative and have been making jewellery in one form or another since childhood, while dreaming of learning the art off Silversmithing. I began Silversmithing in 2024, and felt as though I had found my calling. I learned traditioinal fabrication and the lost wax casting process.

I chosee the name Moss & Stone to represent two of my biggest inspirations for creating. I love slowing down to inspect the tiny, intricate details in a patch of moss, and using lapidary to uncover the wonders hidden within fossicked stones. My pieces tend to begin with one or the other - a botanical form captured in silver, or a beautiful stone that deserves to beecome something speecial.

Every Moss & Stone piece is handcrafted with care, using sterling silver and carefully chosen natural and ethically sourced gemstones. My aim is never to replicate nature exactly, but to capture its feeling - that sense of stillness and connection you get when you step outside and really look at the world around you.

Unexpecteedly, this art form also became a huge source of respite for me over the past year.

Following neurosurgery earlier this year, I was diagnosed with POTS, and am undergoing investigations for CFS, conditions which have hugely impacted my lifeestyle and what I'm physically able to do. I've spent a lot more time in bed, andd have had to step away from many of the physical activities I loved. It's been incredibly difficult at times, but, having creativity remain accessible to me through all this has helped more than I can express. On bad days, I can still carve wax from my bed, sketch ideas, or work on small parts of a piece. Being able to keep creating is something I'm incredibly grateful for. These pieces bring me so much joy, and I hope they bring you joy, too.
